Close on the heels of the Men's qualifiers, Women's Volleyball preliminaries were held on the second evening of Sportikon. It was a tripartite battle among Gargi College, Mata Sundari College and the host, Bennett University.

Gargi defeated MSC with the scoreboard reading 26-24 at the end of the first set as it went in for a deuce and 25-21 in the second set concluding the game. Gargi's Captain Muskaan Tanwar, reflecting on their game said, "We won our first and that uplifted our mood. Of course, we won't let it get to us, but will treat it as a motivation to keep the momentum going."

MSC, who lost their first game to Gargi, were determined to not get knocked out. Noting their match errors, they came back stronger. In two successive games, they defeated Bennett by huge margins - first tallying 25 against 8, and then 25 against 9.

This left the Bennett cohort disappointed, but Assistant Sports Director Arun Kumar stepped in to lift up the spirit while also offering the girls constructive feedback, which they seemed determined to work upon. The team is now set to face Gargi on Day-3, where they will play to earn a spot in the next round.

Aditya Pandey, the designated videographer for the event, commented, "While it is disheartening to watch our team lose, it is important that we do not burden them with our disappointment." Wishing the girls his very best, he also admired their sportsperson attitude, "It is not easy to accept such results. They were strong to do so."
