Bennett University transformed into a haunted haven on 31st October 2025 as students gathered for the ninth edition of the university’s much-awaited Halloween celebration. From spooky decorations to extravagant costumes, the air buzzed with excitement and a delicious sense of wickedness.
The campus transformed overnight into a scene straight out of a horror film. Haunted tombstones, floating eyeballs, glowing pumpkins, and cobwebs stretched across every hallway. Skeletons leaned against signposts pointing to “Witch Lane” and “Face Painting,” while eerie music echoed through the night. The campus came alive as every nook and cranny reflected the spirit of Halloween.
Adding to the night’s allure was Silhouette's Face Painting which brought even the simplest of costumes alive.Witch Lane , a corridor of enchantment lined with stalls from various clubs. Tarot booths, jewellery shops and endless trick or treat candy had students craving for more. A much anticipated Karan Aujla look-alike contest left the crowd in stitches. With mind boggling mystery rooms and lighthearted ice breaking sessions, there was something for everyone.

Mummies, witches with pointed hats, pirates with swords, sinister zombies and even grim reapers strolled through the fog as students jumped on the Halloween bandwagon. Parisha Sharma, turned heads as Wednesday Addams, complete with twin braids, a black outfit, and the ‘Thing’ perched on her shoulder, inspired by Jenna Ortega’s iconic portrayal.
Among the many standout costumes, Varun Singh chilled onlookers with his portrayal of Dexter Morgan. “I've always been fascinated by characters who live in the grey. His calm charm hiding a dark secret felt like the perfect Halloween twist to explore,” he said.
A dynamic duo, Rashi and Rishita, dressed adorably asBambi and Thumper from the 1942 Disney classic, while Reyaansh Parnami stood out as a wealthy Sheikh from Dubai, donning an ankle-length robe, headscarf, and sunglasses. Everywhere you looked, imagination and enthusiasm were on full display.
Students showcased their inner horror fanatics with spine-chilling performances throughout the night. The Anime Club’s production left the captivated crowd in goosebumps, followed by a hair-raising play by Ansh, the dramatics society. The classical and western dance clubs, Rivaaz and Verve, lit up the stage with their electrifying performances, while Panache, the fashion society, hosted a spectacular runway show with ginormous wings, horns dipped in blood and ghostly makeup taking the centre show. Each costume was more blood curdling than the last, blending glamour with fright.
Reflecting on the night, Aishina Sehgal, Secretary of Pulse, the event management club, said, "It took over a month of planning, a
lot of stress, and endless hard work to pull it off, but in the end, everything came together perfectly. All the effort felt worth it when so many people came up to me and said they loved the event.”
The night culminated as DJ Asar took over the stage, bringing the crowd to roars. Beats pulsed through the campus like never before, lights flickered across the stage, and a one-of-a-kind laser show transformed the open ground into a kaleidoscope of colors. With their hands in the air and spirits soaring, they danced to soulful tracks like Ranjha and Tum Hi Ho, before unleashing their energy to haunting hits like Party withith Bhootnath, Ami Je Tomar, Humma Humma, and Chaiyya Chaiyya.

To top it all off, fireworks burst into the night sky, adding a dazzling sparkle to an already unforgettable evening. The dance floor became a blur of lights, laughter, and movement, everyone celebrating not just Halloween but the ecstatic feeling of living it together. With hearts full and feet tired, the shared joy of the night promised indelible memories until next year's spooky celebration.
