Hello and welcome back to thefast fashion series part 4!
I know you all must be wondering what else do I’ve on board for you, so as far I remember, I basically gave you all an insight aboutfast fashion , its uses, top brands, websites and the line goes on…
But today we’ll talk about theAlternatives of Fast Fashion which is equally necessary and important. Firstly, I would like to give you all a word of advice. We all can afford clothes but some of us or our parents must’ve felt that the changing fashion or changing trends are not somewhere affecting you but their hard-earned money, we all can have a repeat-cloth-business with our wardrobe, we can repeat clothes and *WEAR & PAIR* with the clothes we’ve. We can somewhat save money & we probably should, I wouldn’t say wasting; but spending it on items which are not necessary at the moment.
I remember I learned about fast fashion and sustainable fast fashion a semester back, and I didn’t pay much heat to it at that point of time but now as I’m sharing it with you, I’m thinking about it all over again.IRL , I sometimes follow fast fashion to keep up with the ever-changing fashion trends but following it all the time isn’t that necessary, that’s what my mother says.
So, I would also like to suggest you a quick alternative of fast fashion:
Coming over to the one, which is very famous and I’m pretty sure everyone of us must’ve heard of it once,
THRIFT CLOTHING: There is something very unique & wonderful about the thrift clothing as it not only helps a person find a piece of clothing, they like from thrift stores or nowadays we also have pages running all across the Instagram selling the handpicked and preloved pieces which youth might like. So, what actually is thrift clothing? In layman term, Second-hand Clothes which are worn gently and then is made available for selling either by the stores or by the people themselves. Thrifting not only saves money but also reduces the carbon footprint on the planet. “The one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” someone actually said it right. People can purchase clothes which are pre-owned and definitely thrifting can be used as an alternative to fast fashion.
GROWING POPULARITY OF VINTAGE STORES: Vintage stores not only offers you good collection but it also ensures that if you’re investing in a piece, you’ll wear it countless times in the future. Just a pro tip: Never shop something similar which you already have in your wardrobe because fast fashion make you change your wardrobe every 3 months with a bit different design but the same canvas & always check for the piece is in right condition.
I just got a random thought while I was penning this down, I recently tried the h&m scheme wherein you can give your pre-loved fashion clothes, from any brand and to your surprise they’ll give a thankyou-voucher and you can use it in your next purchase to get an amazing discount.
Coming back to the rise of ethical and sustainable fashion brands:
Sustainable fashion is a way we can minimize the harmful impacts of fashion industry on our environment. ManyBrands & Fashion designers are opting for sustainable fashion which is recyclable, durable and most importantly made with eco-friendly materials. So, this is basically on the rise to curb the alarming situation of our planet.
We basically got some knowledge on the alternatives and our sustainable fashion, I would like to end this blog by stating that trends will always be changing every now and then, use your resources nicely and wisely and contribute to the nature by doing your part.
