The phrase "workload management " is in use among Indian players as they prepare for the next IPL (Indian Premier League) season, particularly given that the World Test Championship final will soon follow.
The WTC final begins on June 7 at the Oval. May 28 marks the IPL's conclusion.Rahul Dravid , the Head Coach, has also expressed dissatisfaction with the quick turnaround.
The skipper,Rohit Sharma explained that IPL clubs have received guidelines regarding the supervision of player workloads from the team management . Any concerns about whether the franchises would abide by those requests, however, would have been soon dispelled by the smile that followed and the worry in his tone.
Well according to me Rohit is in the ideal position to remark as the captain of both India and the Mumbai Indians.Jasprit Bumrah continued to play in every game despite MI being eliminated from the postseason race very shortly afterwards. This decision was made by Rohit and the MI club management. despite how insignificant it may have seemed. Did that cause the top pacer to suffer a significant back problem a few months later?
Since last September, Bumrah has not appeared in a competitive game. It would be interesting to see if Bumrah can recover his competitive game condition for the limited - overs World Cup after undergoing major surgery in New Zealand recently. Now that the players are owned by the franchises, the teams have received some cues or potentially precarious information from the BCCI. But in the end, it is up to the team, and most importantly, the players. They must look after their own bodies.
It is understood that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) staff has previously communicated detailedworkload plans, so until a player is injured, no instructions will be given to franchisees.
