Nainital is a popular hill station in Uttrakhand , India . It is set in a valley containing a mango-shaped lake, surrounded by mountains, that are named Naina on the north, Deopatha on the west, and Ayarpatta on the south. It is one of the most popular, beautiful and distinct hill stations in Uttrakhand . It shines as a glittering jewel in the Himalayan region and is surrounded by lakes and nature on all sides.
History
It was founded long back and became a health resort flavoured by the British troops and the colonial officials and their families who wanted to escape the heat of the plains. As the town was formed soon there was a great landslide which devastated the newly formed town into pieces and destroyed everything, but this did not hamper the growth ofNainital . The people of Nainital did not give up and rebuilt the town. As you can see it still stands today.
CLIMATE
It experiences a subtropical highland climate. The city is a bit dry during winter and very wet during summer due to the monsoon inSouth Asia . It has a relatively cool summer. The hottest month is July while the coldest one is January. It is said to be one of the best shining diamonds of the Himalayan Belt. The best time to visit Nainital is summer as the temperature is relatively cool compared to the plains and this is the time when most of the tourists come for a visit.
