Bennett University has appointed veteran researcher and institution‑builder Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Tiwari as Professor & Dean, School of Artificial Intelligence, and Head of Industry Partnerships for all engineering programmes—a move that signals the university’s intent to scale up its technology portfolio and deepen industry engagement.

Armed with more than 20 years of teaching, research, and academic leadership, the Thapar‑trained PhD and certified AWS Solutions Architect now oversees curriculum design, research strategy, and partnership development across Bennett’s engineering verticals.

His brief is explicit:

  • Curriculum modernisation. Map every AI and engineering programme to NAAC, NBA, NIRF and NEP 2020 benchmarks, embed outcome‑based learning, and integrate mandatory industry projects and micro‑credentials from global tech providers.
  • Research commercialisation. Convert Bennett’s laboratories into living testbeds by doubling funded projects, filing high‑value patents and accelerating tech‑transfer agreements with partners in healthcare, smart cities and clean energy.
  • Industry alignment. Expand the university’s collaboration roster, currently 30+ MoUs, to joint R&D centres with AWS, Intel, NVIDIA and leading Indian start‑ups, ensuring students work on live pipelines from the first year.
Dr. Tiwari’s record supports the mandate. A prolific author of 130+ papers, over 50 in SCI‑indexed journals, and five Scopus‑listed titles on AI, healthcare analytics, fog/edge computing and energy‑efficient networks, he has secured ₹75 lakh in competitive funding from DST, SERB, AICTE and IIT Ropar. His work has earned the Outstanding Researcher Award from the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and four consecutive Best Faculty & Researcher Awards (2018–22).

“Bennett’s vision is to graduate engineers who can deploy AI at scale on day one,” Dr. Tiwari notes. “That demands curricula co‑created with industry, research that solves market problems and a campus culture wired for innovation.”

A Senior Member of IEEE and frequent keynote speaker at IEEE, ACM and IET conferences, Dr. Tiwari brings expertise in machine learning, IoT‑enabled healthcare, next‑generation networks and cloud optimisation.

He plans to launch:

  • An Applied AI Research Hub focusing on federated learning and responsible AI.
  • A Healthcare‑Tech Innovation Lab in partnership with regional hospitals for remote‑care pilots.
  • An Edge‑to‑Cloud Testbed for 5G/6G applications jointly supported by industry sponsors.

With Dr. Tiwari at the helm, Bennett University is positioned to accelerate its evolution into a technology powerhouse, combining academic rigour, sponsored research and enterprise‑grade partnerships to create graduates who can lead India’s AI‑driven economy.
