Disco Fever Hits Bennett University at Bluemoon 10.0

Bennett University shimmered under the lights on Friday as the much-awaited tenth edition of Bluemoon , the annual freshers gala, delivered an unforgettable night packed with music, dance, and boundless energy.
With ‘Disco Night’ as its heartbeat, Bluemoon 10.0 turned the campus into a dance floor of nostalgia and new beginnings.

The event’s festivities began with the newly anointed Student Council’s badging ceremony in the morning, graced by the presence of Mr.Vineet Jain , Chancellor, Bennett University and MD, The Times Group. This was followed by Bluemoon in the evening, a celebration made even more special by the tireless efforts of the Student Council.
The night kicked off with a bang as first-year students competed across multiple rounds of talent, wit, and charm at Mr. and Ms. Freshers talent showcase. Presiding over the competition were the esteemed judges,Sifti Sarang , Femina Miss India North 2024, and Sagar Gera, Mr. India Finalist ’15 who brought their expertise and charisma to the panel.

Round one opened with a jaw dropping solo ramp walk, where fourteen contestants arrived decked out in their finest. The second round featured a pair ramp walk where stunt-packed choreography sent the crowd into a frenzy. From sharp, tailored suits to glamorous ball gowns and glittering dresses, the stage turned into a runway of confidence and flair. The eight shortlisted contenders delivered insightful and profound answers in the third and final round impressing the judges with their on the spot thinking.

At the end of a nail biting contest, Sevant Sukhija and Gouri Chauhan were lauded with the coveted titles of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher respectively, earning thunderous applause from the audience.
“I haven’t stopped grinning ear to ear since the results were announced. Nothing about this has sunk in yet and everything feels surreal,” said Sevant Sukhija about his win. Chauhan echoed the same sentiment stating, “Never in a million years did I think this is how my fresher’s night at Bennett would play out and I’m ever so thankful that it did.” Adding to the celebrations, Kunal Khanduri andShaivya Sharma were awarded ‘Best Dressed’ and ‘Best Walk’ respectively.

The night refused to die down as Bennett’s performance clubs had the crowd roaring for an encore. Rivaaz, the folk and Indian dance society left the crowd fixated with their infectious fusion of Punjabi beats to tracks like ‘Fein’ and ‘Sapphire’. The stage then shifted to Cadence, the rap sub sect of Advaita, the music society, who set the stage on fire with their hard-hitting beats, while Verve, the Western dance society kept the audience popping and locking with their groovy dance moves.

Panache, the fashion society then took over with a stunning showcase. Fringe clothing, leather jackets and fur coats brought a distinct ‘Grease’ inspired flair perfectly encapsulating the pulsating theme of the night. With meticulously delivered stunts, they ensured not a single second of the night was wasted and the energy stayed alive till the very end.

The night transformed as singerNandita Tiwari took the stage with her renditions striking just the right note. From energetic numbers like ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ and “Jiya Re’ to tear jerking performances of “Bade Acche Lagte Hain” and “Abhi Na Jao Chod Kar’, her setlist and magnetic stage presence had the crowd spellbound.

The energy softened for a moment with singer Bhoomi Bhisht who chose to keep things simple and soulful. Her acoustic guitar renditions of ‘Finding Her’ and ‘Tere Bina’, gave the night a much needed intimate pause.

The night drew to a close as pop sensationSimar Kaur brought the house down with her hit tracks ‘Laal Pari’, ‘Dil Chori’ and ‘Koka’, leaving the crowd on a euphoric high. Mr. Vineet Jain, Chancellor, Bennett University and MD, The Times Group joined Simar Kaur on stage, adding to the electrifying energy of the night as the crowd erupted in cheers.
