What do media students do for fun? They build communities with their skills. With that goal in mind TSOM called in nominations for a new editorial board and after a process of careful selection by the faculty a spanking new Times of Bennett editorial board began its tenure. A team of 25 students took oath of office at a ceremony held on August 29, 2025, at Bennett University’s state-of-the-art TV studio.

The event marked the induction of the newly appointed editorial team, led by Editor-in-Chief Ananya Barath. The oath was administered by Professor Dhiraj Singh—Deputy Dean of Times School of Media (TSOM) and Head, Centre for Media & Technology, Bennett University—who delivered an inspiring address on the duties and responsibilities of the editorial board. He reminded the students of the values of ethics, integrity, commitment and loyalty that they must strive to carry forward.

The Times of Bennett is a portal run by the students of Times School of Media as part of their training. This includes mobile videos, podcasts, web reports, web features, infographics and photo essays. Besides this, the students will also work on wire reports and update content in real-time. The website is also powered by the Content Management System used by the Times Group, giving students the opportunity to learn aspects of journalism using technology that is the best in the industry.
Under Prof. Singh’s guidance, the students pledged their commitment to journalistic ethics, vowing to remain faithful to the principles of responsible reporting and publishing. Faculty members of TSOM were also present on the occasion, lending weight to the formal yet deeply motivating atmosphere of the ceremony. After the oath-taking, the newly constituted editorial team immediately got down to business by holding its first editorial meeting where members shared ideas and mapped out plans for the week ahead.

For the students the oath-taking ceremony was a giant leap into the professional space: learning to learn-by-doing and taking authorship of their professional lives. It also reaffirmed Times of Bennett's role as a dynamic platform for nurturing the GenNext of media professionals, who know how to shine at the workplace.
