The video production conference hosted by TSOM alumni, Vaibhav Kulkarni, gave the students a glimpse into the creative side of advertising. The first ever Alumni - student run conference begun on April 18th, 2024. This was organized by the Placement Committee along with the Times School of Media. The conference consisted of various workshops for students to learn from and mock interview rounds held by industry experts.

Vaibhav Kulkarni, a director who works in 5W1H, a creative media advertising agency shared his experience on how to survive in the world of advertising. The workshop started off with an in depth session on how the advertising world conjures up campaigns. The creative side of advertising was taught through seeing actual advertisement and letting them infer their opinions. Through this, students were given an opportunity to see behind the curtains and understand the thought process that went behind making an advertisement. The workshop included the real time use of companies such as Coca Cola as case studies that gave students real time information.

Vaibhav Kulkarni then went on to explain the importance of the three stages of production - pre production, production and post production. This consisted of the planning, coordination and editing in the process. He went in depth of how making an advertisement means making magic. He explained the process of how there are boundaries and freedom as well in the creative world and a good artist would be able to combine the two.
