The essence of Deeksharambh 2025 lay in teaching students how to stand out from the crowd by shaping a mindset that values individuality over conformity.
From tracking elections and international affairs, to shaping newsroom strategies,Gopalakrishnan has worn many hats in journalism . As Senior Executive Editor and Anchor at Times Now , he has become a familiar face in Indian television. On Tuesday, he brought that experience to Bennett University , offering the new cohort of media students, a rare peek behind the scenes of the fast-paced world of the news industry.

He explained that information must be analyzed in our terms, while also emphasizing the importance of a fair and balanced viewpoint while reporting. “You’re trying to put out something that is not already there,” he explained. The focus is to bring out fresh contexts from all the information that is flowing in was his point. He accentuated the realities of modern-day journalism and how it affects not just the media landscape but also the larger public.
Breaking journalism down to its core, Gopalakrishnan called to attention, two main aspects of storytelling. The first, involves covering a story from a 360-degree perspective, which essentially means documenting both ends of a spectrum when covering a story, without there being any spaces for biases.
Secondly, he highlighted the importance of emotional connect while narrating a story, because sometimes, news on the television, needs to be dramatized in order to get a point across. However, it is equally important to be able to identify where dramatization ends and where sensationalism begins; and who better to tell us that, than one of the best in the field, Mr.Madhavdas Gopalakrishnan .
Aradhya Mohan and Manyata Agarwal are a dynamic duo; one a budding journalist with a sharp eye for stories, the other a creative thinker who thrives on fresh perspectives. Together, they bring strong writing and boundless creativity to the table.
