BENNETT DIALOGUES launch with the War in West Asia

Bennett University has launched BENNETT DIALOGUES, a fortnightly talk series conceptualized by Chancellor Vineet Jain (Times Group MD) to help students grasp global geopolitical shifts. Led by Prof. Dhiraj Singh (Head, Centre for Media & Technology), it features informal fireside chats and Q&A with experts in geopolitics, business, and media. The series aims to connect world events to everyday impacts, like how the US-Israel-Iran war affects India's petrol and LPG prices. The inaugural edition on April 21 explores "The War in West Asia," with Times Now's Zakka Jacob and Dr. Waiel Awwad (Syrian-origin expert on West Asia conflicts, based in Delhi). Prof. Singh highlights its blend of Times Group media legacy and Bennett's academic excellence, benefiting media, liberal arts, business, and law students.

BENNETT DIALOGUES launch with the War in West Asia
By our correspondent

Bennett University has launched a unique talk series that unpacks for young minds all the complex geopolitical shifts taking place across the world. Conceptualized by BU Chancellor and the Times Group MD Mr Vineet Jain—a strong advocate of the media’s role in providing a deeper understanding of issues—BENNETT DIALOGUES aims to give Bennett students a 360-degree view of a fast-changing world.

Led by Head, Centre for Media & Technology, and Times School of Media Deputy Dean Prof. Dhiraj Singh, BENNETT DIALOGUES will take place every fortnight at Bennett University campus where experts from geopolitics, business, media and other areas will unpack world events for Bennett students. It will be in the format of an informal fireside chat followed by a question-and-answer session with the experts.

The aim of BENNETT DIALOGUES is to make students more familiar with world events and how they impact aspects of their life, a good example of this would be how petrol and LPG prices in India have been affected by the US-Israel-Iran war.

The inaugural edition of BENNETT DIALOGUES will explore the ‘The War in West Asia’ and will take place on April 21st featuring Times Now Managing Editor and global affairs specialist Mr Zakka Jacob and Dr Waiel Awwad, who has been a veteran covering conflicts and peace initiatives in West Asia for over 4 decades. Of Syrian origin Dr Awwad is based out of New Delhi and is well-versed in India’s position on West Asia.

Speaking about the new initiative Prof. Dhiraj Singh noted: “BENNETT DIALOGUES is unique because it combines The Times Group legacy in the media with Bennett University’s pursuit of academic excellence. It will hugely benefit our students especially those studying media, liberal arts, business and law who will get to interact and understand complex world issues directly from the experts.”

Looks like Bennettians will have yet another opportunity to learn from the best!
