Last year students had multiple questions about getting placed, while not being confident enough to take a step ahead? To withstand the ever-rising job expectations, Bennett Finishing School organized a three-day Employability Enhancement Programme for final-year students of the Times School of Media from October 6 to 8, 2026. The programme brought together undergraduate and postgraduate students to strengthen their professional skills and prepare them for recruitment opportunities.

The programme began with sessions led by Professor Nitesh and Dr. Rakesh from Bennett Finishing School, introducing students to workplace expectations and the importance of professional readiness. The first day focused on resume building, personal branding and professional image. Students got an understanding on how to structure resumes, highlight achievements, align their profiles with job descriptions and present their academic projects and internships effectively. Activities on self-introduction encouraged them to communicate about their skills, experiences and career aspirations with clarity. Sessions on grooming, body language and power dressing helped students understand how posture, gestures and professional appearance often influence first impressions.

The second day emphasized on communication and interview skills. Exercises like group discussions helped students practice expressing opinions, listening to others and building arguments respectfully. A session on phonetics covered pronunciation, intonation and clarity of speech, skills particularly relevant to journalism, television anchoring and corporate communication. Another session explored Dopamine Detox and the Attention Economy, highlighting the challenge that students nowadays face of maintaining attention in a digital environment.

The third day focused on presentations, portfolios, assessments and personal interviews. Students practiced delivering concise presentations and improving their stage presence. Individual interviews gave them an opportunity to experience recruitment situations and receive personalized feedback on their answers, communication and professional profiles.

For students, these exercises offered an opportunity to identify areas of improvement before facing actual interviews. Resume reviews encouraged them to present their achievements more effectively, while interview feedback helped them recognize the importance of clear answers, relevant examples and well-defined career goals. Through this three-day initiative, Bennett Finishing School provided students with practical exposure to recruitment expectations and encouraged them to treat feedback as an opportunity for growth.
